Highlights: Explore Western Mongolia and experience the life of the Eagle Hunters and the Kazakhs. You will get to experience horse riding in the mountains with the eagle hunters and see how they train the eagles for the winter hunt.

Accommodation: Ger (yurt), a Mongolian traditional dwelling made with wooden frames and linen layers on the ceiling. It has a stove in the center to keep the ger warm, and a small table, chairs, beds with mattresses, and extra blankets.

Sustainability: We help tourists and visitors to make a friendship with the locals. We have economically and voluntarily helped youth organizations and by purchasing this trip, you are helping 3 youths to have their school kit.

Itinerary

Day 1: Ulgii City

Our driver will pick you up at the arranged time and drop you off at the airport for your departure to Ulgii town. When you arrive, you will meet the local guide and driver. Start exploring Ulgii town and visit the local museum. Then visit the Kazakh family and have a friendly lunch with them. Stay overnight in a local hotel.

Day 2: Ulgii - Altai Soum

After breakfast, we will drive to Altai soum where the eagle hunters live. As the travel takes place you can see some ancient petroglyphs. Then we will visit the Kazakh eagle hunter family and spend a full day with them enjoying. The activities will include:  

• Explore some ancient tombs and Balbal stones that date back to the Turkic Empire 

• Try real Kazakh cuisine 

• See how they train and treat their eagles and get a deep knowledge of eagle hunting

Day 3: Eagle Hunting in the Mountains

In the morning, we will ride horses (driving is available if horse-riding in not preferred) to go to the mountains nearby to see the Kazakhs hunt with their Eagles. The hunters will use baits for eagle hunting demonstration. Then we will drive back to Ulgii town. Visit a souvenir shop and local market if time permits.

Day 4: Fly Back to Ulaanbaatar

Fly back to Ulaanbaatar. You will be dropped off at your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, we will have a farewell lunch or dinner.
